The school uses a combined access control and alarm signalling system as well as an all-in-one management and integration solution. The result: optimised door usage, simplified administration and increased security at both sites – management and administration can now sleep soundly.

Göteborgs Högre Samskola is a traditional yet innovative institution with around 1,600 students on two campuses. And this is where Pether Lager works – a property manager with a strong focus on maintenance planning and safety. Together with the installer Monitor, he has embarked on the project safe university with efficient work processes.

The two school buildings are unique, and the ‘small school’ in particular has a unique architecture. With numerous windows and around 40 doors on the ground floor, it presents a logistical challenge. With the help of installer Monitor, a comprehensive analysis was carried out to reduce the number of external doors in use. This involved reviewing specific access areas and reorganising the flow of traffic within the building. This was used to determine the optimum number of doors with digital access control systems. Looking at the building from the outside in provided a new perspective and enabled a smooth optimisation of door usage.

The historic school buildings, with their numerous external doors and the location of many areas on the ground floor, present a challenging environment for installations and security solutions. The NOX system was first installed in the ‘small school’ with around 500 pupils, where it proved to be the optimum solution. Today, both campuses are equipped with NOX. The seamless integration of the systems enables easy administration, for example when updating plans or other information.

The choice of NOX was based on its open interface and affordable solution, which allows easy integration with existing systems. This allows, for example, efficient links between staff and student registers. The school’s particular layout, such as the precise positioning of the detectors, posed a challenge. However, thanks to extensive support from the installer, Monitor, it was possible to implement a customised and optimal security solution with NOX systems.
